Day 2: R & R (rest and relaxation)

Today was another hot, and beautiful day. Alexa woke up Jarrod and me at 8:00am. We ate breakfast, drank coffee (awesome coffee maker Jess), and spent time admiring the scenery from our balcony. Jarrod and I went to the gym to get a quick work-out in. We ran on the treadmills for 25 minutes. K.C. woke up around 9:15am, then Caitlin and Jordy got up, and Dillon finally made an appearance at 1:00pm.

Something interesting happened this morning! As K.C. was on the balcony, he noticed that the lifeguards were clearing the water fairly quickly. We then saw what looked like a black figure covering a large area of water near the shore. At first we thought it looked like oil, and then we realized it was a HUGE school of fish. I guess they take precautions when this many fish come too close because they assume that the predators are not far behind. It was pretty cool to see that many fish swimming together.

Caitlin and I went down to the ocean around 11am to lay-out in the sand. Jarrod was the next one to come down, and he layed out at the pool. K.C. had a paper to type for school, so he stayed inside and watched (listened for) Lexie. She took her morning nap from 11:00am-1:00pm. We all ate lunch around 1:15pm, and then went back out to enjoy the amazing weather. The boys got their boogie boards and went chasing the waves, while us girls played on the beach. Alexa ate less sand today, which was a plus! She had fun for about an hour, and then the poor baby got tired! Playing wore her out. She actually layed down between Cait and I, and slept for an hour. We kept her completely covered and protected from the scorching sun. Speaking of the sun.....Caitlin and I look like Lobsters! We got burnt. I even wore sunscreen on my face for most of the day. Oh well....I will not stay out as long tomorrow. We are not in any pain, just nice and RED. We came inside around 3pm. Jarrod and I took a nap, Cait watched Lex as she refused to take a nap, and K.C. and Jordy played Tiger Woods on the Xbox (K.C. won every game). Dillon slept.....

Jarrod and I woke up from a peaceful nap at 6:00pm. Alexa was being crazy- she was sooo tired. She just cried, and wanted to be held by Jarrod (big surprise....daddy's girl). We decided that it would be a good idea for just the two of us to go out for the evening, and leave the others in to watch Lexie. As Caitlin was giving Alexa dinner, she was nodding off and could barely keep her eyes open. She looked so cute, but I felt awful for how exhausted my baby was. We got ready, and left them money to order in pizzas for dinner. I guess Dillon finally came out of hibernation once the pizza arrived.

Jarrod and I had an excellent dinner. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack at Barefoot Landing. It is a neat area to walk around and shop. We had crab, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Mmmmm. Once we finished, we decided to walk around a little. There was a little coffee shop called "Coffee Cottage," and we shared a Frozen Carmel coffee (my favorite). We also bought homemade Peanut butter Ice cream to share. Before heading back to our 'home away from home,' we went to the store and got some Diet Dr. Pepper for the beach tomorrow...refreshing!!!

Currently: Dillon, K.C., Jordy, and Caitlin are down at the ocean with flashlights searching for crabs. (Oh, and Jordy got pinched on his hand by a crab today when swimming in the ocean...haha.) Don't worry mother- no one is swimming right now in the dark. Jarrod and I are watching TV, and Alexa is sound asleep. We are going to watch "Night at the Museum 2" once the kiddos get back to the condo with their new pet crabs!
